Working out

Beach training

Start the day the best way – with sweat, laughter, and endorphins! We do high-intensity training mixed with mobility training to a soundtrack of nice music. Elin holds the sessions but is not a qualified PT, however she has a burning passion for OCR – Obstacle Course Races so don’t be surprised if you see oil drums, tyres or anything similar. The session is suitable for everyone. Recommended age from 11 upwards. Take your own water bottle and towel.

Hang out with a bunch of happy fitness lovers and discover new trails in the local area. The session mostly consists of running, but sometimes there could be one or two bodyweight exercises, and we also use nature as equipment. Saltviksbussen also delivers kettlebells to certain places. We’ll meet at a predetermined place.

We’ll jog together in groups on the cliffs, in the fantastic Tjurpannan nature reserve. Along the way, we’ll stop and do simple exercises such as sit-ups, squats and push-ups. Suitable for most people, the distance we run is about 5 km. Meet at reception.

For those of you who want to get out into the bay and get some sea air, we really recommend renting a pedalo, they can take up to 5 people. Are there a lot of you? Rent two pedalos and see who can pedal the fastest to the boathouses and back to the beach!

Activities nearby

In Grebbestad town and its surrounding area and around Tanum municipality, there’s a huge range of different activities and events on offer. Find something that suits you!

The best place to eat is, of course, our very own Saltviks Bistro and Bar 🙂

But we also recommend that you take a trip to Grebbestad and try one or more of the wonderful restaurants there are there. Here is a selection.

Älgafallet Waterfall

Älgafallet is located in the top northeast corner of the municipality and forms the border to Norway. The waterfall is Bohuslän’s tallest at 46 m. There is a bridge at the bottom for good access, and there is a sign with information about the history of the border and historical locations in the area. There was once a saw and a mill here. Prime visiting periods are in the spring and the autumn when the water is high.

If it starts raining, it could be time to take a little shopping trip. Grebbestad offers a lot of small, cosy shops that are well worth a visit. About 12 km from Saltvik you will find Tanum Shopping Centre with a varied selection of shops and restaurants. Just outside Grebbestad centre is the Nordic region’s largest sports shop, Sportshopen.

Discover caves

In the tiny fishing village of Havstenssund, the mystically beautiful hiking trail cuts through Målarklöva at the top of the mountain for fabulous views.

Munkkyrkan, a natural formation from the ice age, is located at the seaside just north of Grönemad. The cave is like a tunnel and is around 11–12 m deep. There is a large boulder at the beach that is called “the altar stone”.

High above Fjällbacka towers Vetteberget mountain, the highest point of which offers a fantastic view of both the islands and the mainland. The mountain is divided into Stora Vetteberget and Lilla Vetteberget by the distinctive Kungsklyftan crevice, with a wedged boulder forming a ceiling.

Skärgårdsidyllen offers everything from guided kayak trips to yoga on the sea or land.

At Bröderna Klemmings Dyk you can book diving excursions, high-speed safaris and seal safaris.

Vitlycke Museum

Vitlycke museum is a knowledge and experience centre in World Heritage Tanum – an area with around 600 rock carvings. Take a guided tour or wander on your own among the rocks and interpret the unique carvings. The museum also has a café and a gift shop.
